Atomic Tone was founded in 2023, with a clear vision to create high-quality, hand-built pedals that offer more than the typical standard. In all my years of playing, I’ve mostly disliked anything with a lot of knobs, switches, programing – etc. keep it simple! That said, the Triptych and the Vintage Green are not that, with four knobs & a 3-way switch on both, not the 2-knob simple design, yet they are well worth the time in getting your tone.

I began building my own gear in late 2004, amps, cabs, pedals and guitars. Apart from the technical requirements of design, my ears are what make the final decision when it comes to designing.

At Atomic Tone, my aim is to offer something unique. Not to engage in unnecessary embellishments or marketing fluff. My hope/focus is to provide an authentic and innovative experience for musicians who seek a fresh perspective in the world of pedals. The goal is to offer pedals that enhance your tone past the standard. I believe the tone journey should be about discovering a place where the distractions fade away, creating a platform to connect with your own musical expression, as the tone should remove you from the thought of time.


The design of all electronic products are mathematical!
The design to amps, pedals and to all electronic circuits are mathematical. The main reason you see so many forums rant about “it’s a copy – the circuit was stolen” -blah-blah-blah – etc. “In short,” a circuit is a small town (overhead map view) = “typical schematic” the road layout can be very similar, the road names a little different, the police & fire station and schools may not be in the same location, and possibly built with different construction materials. If you did a deep dive on schematics, and how close so many are almost identical, forums would be inundated. Some have very small changes, some major, and depending on the location of resistors, caps, op-amps, diodes, voltages, filtering, pre & post gain – etc. can have a small to big impact on the tone design.

***If you operate in a caveman, “I know everything” mindset—believing that if the label says it does this, that’s all it does, and that all pedals work the same—or if you think you know tone simply because you’ve purchased a lot of high-end pedals but can’t actually play, (please) do not purchase our pedals. Our pedals are for players who truly understand tone, primarily play tube amps above bedroom volume, and spend serious time dialing it in.

Linear algebra: To solve systems of linear equations that arise in circuit analysis 
Logarithms & Complex numbers Used in electrical engineering  
Matrices: Network theory, analysis of electrical circuits  
Fourier transforms: Used in signal processing to analyze and manipulate signals 
Differential equations: Used in designing control systems for electronic devices 
Verification of a designed circuit: can involve/require mathematical large scale computer simulations.
