The new Protium pedal – Pre-Sale

The Protium offers three variations of overdrive, all three positions offering boost, light overdrive, to a contrast of thick overdrive, with the 2nd position offering med level OD. If you just use a boost pedal it offers that well, with a good amount of tone shaping.

(The Tone) A “Bluesbreaker pedal stacked into a Klon, being played through a Hiwatt DR103 Custom”, this is what the Protium offers, it is not an amp in the box. A very even EQ from highs to lows with just a slight bump in the mids without any hint of a nasally tone. With a clear, almost bell-like tone – glassy and punchy even at very high volumes. It delivers clear notes with natural, full-range power in all three positions, while maintaining that distinctive tube-amp sound. It offers 3 different types of overdrive maintaining low noise at high levels of gain.

All knobs are very active, The bass and treble controls have a strong functionality.

It is an analog circuit capable of delivering a surplus of tonal options.

(Pos-1) Boost to overdrive that goes past mild – half-way to med, modern to vintage tone that can also get compressed depending on the settings.
(Pos-2) Boost to overdrive that offers a little dirtier overdrive tone as it’s turned up, max is medium OD.
(Pos-3) Boost to overdrive that goes just a small bit below medium gain at max, offering just a slight more punch.
