Vintage Triad – Art/Brush finish

The Vintage Triad is the Saturation Triptych and our Vintage Green circuit in a combo pedal. Your choice of the Triptych Ver. 1 or 2 will need to be added in the checkout notes.

Center Position Switch:
The switch down, (Trip) this selection makes the Triptych first in line in the signal path, up (Grn), this selection makes the Vintage Green first in line to the signal path.

Saturation Triptych switch positions:

Version 2 changes: A little extra low end voicing with a little more saturation to all three positions.

It offers variations of gain from light to medium overdrive, with position two going from overdrive to a nice thick saturated fuzz tone. Producing rich harmonics and everything from throaty overdrive to fuzz-like saturation is only part of what it can do.

This pedal offers warm, creamy, clear notes with a natural full-range tone in all three positions, while still maintaining that tube-amp sound capable of navigating all genres of recorded guitar tones—from the ’60s to the present day. It can also help tighten a distorted amp’s sag, making higher gain more manageable while maintaining low noise to gain levels.

All knobs are “very” active, small adjustments will affect your tone. The bass and treble controls go well beyond standard function, they do far more than their label.

In short, the simplest way to describe the Triptych V2 sound would be 40% RAT, 40% Bluesbreaker & 20% Dumble in one pedal, with position 2 able to get close to a Tone Bender at max.

(Pos-1) Boost, mild overdrive that goes half way to medium, will do a “little” modern too thick vintage tone that can also get compressed, depending on the settings – bass knob.
(Pos-2) Boost, overdrive, as the Saturation & Bass knobs are turned clockwise the fuzz edge increases, maxed will get close to the Tone Bender MKII pro tone.
(Pos-3) Boost to thick OD that now goes to almost medium gain and can still get a little fuzz like.
Position 3, one of the strong points of this pedal is stacking, when placed (1^st) in line.

This is “not” a jack of all trades, master of none pedal, each position has an array of great tone!

Triptych note: “If” you do not like fuzz, run it at 18v, it then becomes a variation of OD & distortion depending on the switch position and will also make the Vintage Green run a little cleaner.

(Pos-1) Overdrive is smooth, rich & clear that goes half-way to medium gain at max.
(Pos-2) Smooth, rich & big. Turn up the drive and Plexi knobs, a very thick saturated overdrive begins to enter and the “mid hump” withdraws a bit. Maxed goes just a little past medium gain.
(Pos-3) Smooth, rich & thick, with just a “little” more punch than Pos-1 & 2, while maintaining a big, full, clear tone. Maxed goes to medium gain.

The Vintage Green will get close to the original TS-808 in (1st position) & the Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive in (all 3 positions), depending on the Plexi knob settings.
The Plexi knob is a (pre-distortion w/extras) “It is just a knob label” – The Plexi knob is a description of the feel of what the Plexi knob does in the circuit, coming from an old memory. The design of the pedal is not to sound like a Plexi type amp.
